I've tried again to take a photo with flash set on Auto and this time the led was blinking in an irregular mode with high, low and zero intensity.

Is it a hardware failure or is software related?

I agree with that. But to solve this problem I think you'll have to abandon yourself to the "dark side". I know I would, but there is a very special app that doesn't like the dark and I need it.

Messing around with MTK engineer mode might end your misery and restore your volume. That is if the speaker is not mecanically damaged...

Or a factory reset ad this is the most used advice on the forum.
